We’re delighted to welcome former San Luis Obispo County Poet Laureate Jeanie Greensfelder to our Connection Café! Jeanie grew up in St. Louis and, after years of splitting time in Cambria, made San Luis Obispo her home in 1997 with her husband, Andy.

She is the author of three books of poetry—Biting the Apple, Marriage and Other Leaps of Faith, and I Got What I Came For. Her poems have been featured on NPR’s The Writer’s Almanac with Garrison Keillor, in former U.S. Poet Laureate Ted Kooser’s American Life in Poetry column, and in the Poetry Foundation’s Poem of the Day.

Through her poetry, Jeanie explores the “sorrowful joys and joyful sorrows” of life, offering reflections that invite us to better understand ourselves and each other. A retired psychologist and dedicated Hospice of SLO County volunteer, she continues to enrich our community with both words and heart.
